| Carol Krauss created her own technique for this series to emulate the feeling of a memory being both sharp and blurry at the same time, as well as having the feeling of being torn out of an old album. Images are split-printed and split-toned with various diffusion materials, techniques and toners. She built a custom frame to create the edge effect.
All works on this page are Selenium Split-Toned Silver Gelatin Prints, image size 5”x5”, framed 14”x18”. Because of the variations in each step of the printing process, each image will vary slightly within the edition. As memories are slightly different each time they are recalled, each negative will print slightly differently each time. |
